Question:
We are probably coming to Moscow in the new year with our 6 y.o. child. we have no idea about property prices and as yet not finished negotiating housing package. Please can you let us know how much we would pay for a house in the complex near to Anglo-American school? And how much for an appartment in a "diplomatic compound" near to Derbenyovskaya? Thanks!
Ali & Gary
Answer:
Dear Ali & Gary,
Thank you for your inquiry. IntermarkSavills would be grateful to assist with your relocation and home-search in Moscow. If you will be making a preliminary visit to Moscow before the New Year, we'd be glad to provide you an orientation tour (area, housing, schools, medical, shopping centres, etc.) if you are interested.
The complex you referred to near the Anglo-American school is called Pokrovsky Hills. Current prices for this compound range from $11,500 (160 sq.m 3 bedrooms) - $23,000/month (340 sq.m. 5 bedrooms). However Pokrovsky Hills, similarly to several other great compounds like Rosinka and Chaika, is completely full and has a long waiting list of tenants waiting to live there.
Two other very attractive international compounds that I can recommend are Serebryany Bor (beautiful secure compound located West of Moscow, with woods and beaches) and Syetun (located southwest of the center).
Depending on the area where you are working as well as if your daughter gets accepted to the Anglo-American School, I would also recommend considering one of the other English schools in Moscow - The English International School (www.englishedmoscow.com), The International School of Moscow (www.internationalschool.ru), The British International School (www.bismoscow.com). All the best,
Paul Nordlund
