| Is there anywhere that will give me a good medical examination and what is the cost - especial my heart. I am getting more and more short of breath, and seem to have a fairly irregular heartbeat.

| A medical examination including a cardiac checkup can range from $50-$90 all the way up to many $thousands if sophisticated procedures and investigations are needed. We would highly recommend not choosing a check up on the basis of cost - you can save money safely on very many other things in life but not on medical care. A basic examination with as a minimum full history, physical examination, laboratory tests, chest X-ray and ECG (EKG for those used to US terminology) at rest could be over $200 at a good clinic. This is the absolute minimum needed given your symptoms. Other investigations such as a stress (exercise) ECG, 24-hour heart monitoring and echocardiography could well be needed. We urge you to start the basics immediately especially if you have an at-risk personal medical history or family medical history.
