Question:
My 2 year 8 month old daughter is displaying signs of autism. Though I believe her symptoms to be mild, she shows a marked impairment in both social and communication skills, which is becoming more pronounced as she gets older. What sort of therapies are available to children on the autism spectrum in moscow and how do I go about seeking a professional diagnosis of her problems?
Karen
Answer:
The diagnosis of autism in a nearly 3 year old would
offer challenges that would normally be handled by a team of western experts including paediatrician, child psychologist and specialised support team.
We may have available an Australian clinical psychologist who specialises in develpmental problems in children including autism. If you required an assessment we could probably arrange this as well as ongoing supportive therapy.
If you are confident that it is purely behavioural ( ie previously med assessed - and for example hearing is ok ),then the psychologist could be contacted and that assessment arranged. I hope this is of help to you.
Regards , Doctor.
