Question:
Is it possible to get chlamydia from unclean contact lenses? Or can it be dormant for more that 2 years?
SD
Answer:
It is possible to get chlamydia from an unclean contact lens. Conjunctivitis which is an inflammation of the eye can be caused by chlamydia. The mode of transmission is often believed to be from people touching secretions coming from the urogenital tract and transferring the secretions to the eye. Chlamydia is know as the silent disease as most woman and a large percentage of man that have been found to have chlamydia are without symptoms. It is indeed believed that some people infected are believed to have been long time carriers that did not have any symptoms. This specially applies to women. Hope this helps.
