Question:
I have a very strong conjectivite for about 8 days now. I have been to a clinic in Moscow, they have prescribed drops but they are not efficient. I feel like if I have a peace of sand on my eye.advises please
LB
Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry If you have had this conjunctivitis for 8 days without improvement then it is very urgent that you consult an eye specialist - even on the weekend - to confirm whether the problem is "only" a bacterial conjunctivitis or whether there is a problem such as a viral conjunctivitis +/- corneal ulcer. It is also necessary for the specialist to check whether the treatment you are getting is covering all the diagnostic possibilities. (Topical corticosteroid use is controversial because although it can provide symptomatic relief, its use in viral infections is relatively contraindicated, but it may prevent corneal scarring and perforation). Best to see the specialist ASAP today.
