 A French jazz singer Mina Agossi is a queen of African jazz. The artist, whose mother is from France and father from Benin, founded her first jazz band in 1993. Her first album won "Young Talent" award straight away and earned her fame on the French Jazz Scene. Then came her album "EZ Pass to Brooklyn" which was influenced by the September 11 attacks and represented a stylistic bond of hip-hop and R&B. Being in jazz for 20 years now she doesn't seem to lose her original fresh voice. Her music and the upcoming album "UrbAfriKa" are a tribute to her African roots and native Benin. Her sound is not a typical African music we are used to but a dive into a warm melancholy, a sea of light and colours and monotonous rhythms of ancient spells...
