65 min (with interval). A Ukrainian-Russian ballet dancer Sergei Polunin presents a Russian premiere of a series of one-act ballet performances titled "SACRÉ". In the first part of the evening, the audience will see the "Fake Smile" ballet to the music "Kroke". Directed by an English choreographer Ross Freddie-Ray it explores the nature of temptation and the ways of fighting it. Nine dancers on the stage will reveal the inner thoughts and sufferings of the main character and help the viewers come closer to understanding the nature of human actions and their influence on the evolution of one's personality. The second ballet, staged specially for Polunin by Japanese choreographer Yuko Oishi to the music by Igor Stravinsky, depicts the story of Vaslav Nijinsky. The latter, born in Kiev to Polish parents, was a ballet dancer and choreographer cited as the greatest male dancer of the early 20th century. Zaryadye Concert Hall |
