19:00 Russian National Orchestra
Russian National Orchestra will perform Symphony No. 7 Gustav Mahler. The Orchestra was founded in 1990 by pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev and today is widely recognized as one of the world's top orchestras. About its debut at the BBC Proms in London, the Evening Standard wrote, "They played with such captivating beauty that the audience gave an involuntary sigh of pleasure." The RNO is also described as "a living symbol of the best in Russian art" (Miami Herald), "as close to perfect as one could hope for" (Trinity Mirror), and "astoundingly virtuosic" (Glasgow Herald). The first Russian orchestra to perform at the Vatican and in Israel, the RNO maintains an active international tour schedule, appearing throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. The RNO is the founding and resident orchestra of Napa Valley Festival del Sole, and performs at prominent venues such as the Edinburgh, Shanghai and Chopin Festivals, and the BBC Proms. Gramophone magazine called the first RNO CD (1991) "an awe-inspiring experience; should human beings be able to play like this?" and listed it as the best recording of Tchaikovsky's Pathétique in history. Since then, the orchestra has made more than 80 recordings, principally with Deutsche Grammophon and PentaTone Classics, as well as with other prestigious labels.

The Orchestra was founded as part of the Culture national project, which was launched in 2018 with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The ensemble consists of 100 young performers aged from 22 to 28 and hailing from 20 regions of Russia. The first line up of the orchestra was formed following the All-Russian Young Orchestra Musicians Competition, which was organised by the Moscow State Philharmonic. More than 360 young musicians took part in the competition (2018). Unlike most youth ensembles, Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra operates all year round as a concert ensemble and an educational platform. Musicians perform with and study under such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Vasily Petrenko, Michail Jurowski, Alexander Lazarev, Alexander Sladkovsky, and Jean-Christophe Spinosi, as well as concertmasters of various Russian and European orchestras, experts in ensemble performance, orchestral peculiarities, and historic performance genres. In 20182019 season, the orchestra has collaborated with the concertmasters of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

20:30 Uriah Heep (UK)
Taking their name from the scheming, parasitic lawyer in Charles Dickens' 1850 novel David Copperfield, Uriah Heep is a progressive rock institution who, alongside bands like Deep Purple, Queen, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, helped lay the foundation for the United Kingdom's vibrant hard rock/heavy metal scene, via combustible hits like "Easy Livin'," "The Wizard," "Sweet Lorraine," "Lady in Black," and "Stealin'." Founded in 1969 by powerhouse vocalist David Byron and guitarist Mick Box, the group went through a prodigious number of members over the next four decades -- nearly 40 different musicians passed through the group over the years. Originally operating under the moniker Spice, Byron and Box eventually recruited guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Ken Hensley, bassist Paul Newton, and drummer Nigel Olsson, and made the transition to Uriah Heep -- fans often refer to the band as simply Heep.
