French pianist Lucas Debargue was revealed by his performances at the XV International Tchaikovsky competition held in Moscow in June 2015. Though placed fourth at the final round, he was the only candidate across all disciplines who was awarded the coveted Moscow Music Critic's Prize as a pianist “whose incredible gift, artistic vision and creative freedom have impressed the critics as well as the audience”. Straight after this incredible breakthrough, Lucas is invited to play solo and with leading orchestras in the most prestigious concert halls. He collaborates with such famous conductors as Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Yurowski, Andrey Boreyko, Yutaka Sado, Tugan Sokhiev, Vladimir Fedoseev, Vladimir Spivakov. He also regularly appears in chamber formations with Gidon Kremer, Janine Jansen, Martin Fröst. Lucas Debargue will perform selected piano sonatas by D. Scarlatti, Sonata in G minor, Op. 22 by Metner and Sonata-fantasy "After Reading Dante", S.161, No. 7 by Liszt. Moscow Conservatory Great Hall |
