20:00 Moscow State Symphony Orchestra
The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra will perform Symphony 6 by Mahler. The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1943, has been acclaimed as one of the greatest orchestras from a cultural tradition rich with extraordinary symphonic ensembles. The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra became renowned around the globe under the leadership of Pavel Kogan. In 1989 he was engaged as Music Director and Chief Conductor and immediately enriched the orchestra repertoire by the works of European and American musical literature. A landmark of the Orchestra has been to present the great cycles of complete symphonic works from leading composers: Brahms, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, R. Strauss, Mendelssohn, Mahler, Bruckner, Sibelius, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Scriabin, Berlioz, Debussy and Ravel. The orchestra’s wide-ranging programs combine great orchestral, operatic, and choral classics with equally significant music of the 21st century, including many forgotten or neglected works. The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra plays some 100 concerts annually. Along with the series in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and in Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra performs in the Great Hall of the Saint-Petersburg D.D. Shostakovich Philharmonic Society and on the stages of many other Russian cities. The Orchestra tours regularly overseas including the USA, United Kingdom, Japan, Spain, Austria, Italy, Germany, France, South Korea, Australia, China and Switzerland.

19:00 Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra
Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra performs works by Gershwin, Shostakovich and others. The Orchestra was founded as part of the Culture national project, which was launched in 2018 with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The ensemble consists of 100 young performers aged from 22 to 28 and hailing from 20 regions of Russia. The first line up of the orchestra was formed following the All-Russian Young Orchestra Musicians Competition, which was organised by the Moscow State Philharmonic. More than 360 young musicians took part in the competition (2018). Unlike most youth ensembles, Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra operates all year round as a concert ensemble and an educational platform. Musicians perform with and study under such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Vasily Petrenko, Michail Jurowski, Alexander Lazarev, Alexander Sladkovsky, and Jean-Christophe Spinosi, as well as concertmasters of various Russian and European orchestras, experts in ensemble performance, orchestral peculiarities, and historic performance genres. In 2018–2019 season, the orchestra has collaborated with the concertmasters of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
