Shanna Waterstown was born in the Deep South in the USA. She grew up singing Gospel in a small Baptist church, at a time when the most popular music on the radio and in her household was "Motown Soul", "Country" and "Funk". Shanna then moved to New York City where she was in the dance class, theater club and the school Choral. She was also inspired to join a theater group that performed small off-Broadway Musical shows. Barely out of high school she made a trip to Paris France and signed with a French cabaret where she performed for several years. Her vocals were highly appreciated by listeners in more than twenty countries. The singer and her band appeared on the same stage with James Brown, Buddy Guy, Louis Red and other stars. Shanna took part in more than 30 music festivals. The first album of the vocalist, in which the traditions of gospel and blues united, was released in 2008 and was called Inside My Blues. The record was accompanied by success. Popularity was accompanied by the second album. She toured all over the USA., France and Europe rising in her career as a major American artist here. 20:00 Vanessa-Mae (UK)
Vanessa-Mae is a British violinist who has made a name for herself in the classical music genre. Born Vanessa-Mae Vanakorn Nicholson in 1979 to a Thai-Chinese couple living in Singapore, she took her first piano lesson at the age of three and moved to violin two years later. Vanessa-Mae was raised in London, where she first performed with an orchestra (the London Philharmonic) in 1989. The concert was recorded, as were two other works between 1990 and 1992, when the violinist toured with the London Mozart Players. Bringing commercial sensuality to the often sterile world of classical music, Vanessa-Mae moved from a classical recording career into the field of popular music with her 1994 breakout album, The Violin Player. The album began to pick up steam in popular-music quarters, and made several world-wide charts. By then a citizen of England, she was nominated for a BRIT Award in 1996 as Best British Female. Storm followed in 1998, and a year later she returned with The Original Four Seasons & The Devil's Trill Sonata. In addition to music, she made a foray into skiing, a passion which she long desired to pursue. She took part in the 2014 Winter Olympics for Thailand in alpine skiing.
