The Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra will perform works by Arensky, Glazunov and others. For 35 years, the Orchestra and its maestro, Vladimir Spivakov, one of the world’s most prominent conductors and violinists, have set the gold standard for chamber music performance. The Washington Post has hailed the Virtuosi as “a dramatically unified ensemble” with “a sound that would put many full orchestras to shame”. The ensemble – top-ranking soloists from the great orchestras of Russia – has garnered superlatives through both live performances around the world and more than 30 recordings on BMG/RCA Victor Red Seal of standard repertoire, lesser known gems and new creations. Since 1989, the Moscow Virtuosi have participated annually in the International Music Festival in Colmar, France, where Maestro Spivakov is the Artistic Director. In 1990, upon invitation of Felipe, Prince of Asturias, the orchestra have left to Spain, but kept performing both in Russia and all over the world. In 1999, the orchestra returned to Russia. In 2003, the orchestra received their own headquarters at Moscow International House of Music, where Vladimir Spivakov is one of the co-founders. Zaryadye Concert Hall |

The Questa Musica ensemble will perform works by Tchaikovsky. The ensemble, directed by Philip Chizhevsky, is one of the most prominent representatives of the Russian conductorial school. It has quickly won praise from Russian and international audiences. The ensemble was formed in 2008 in Moscow. Its members are young and gifted, most of them graduates of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and Moscow Academy of Choral Art. The collective owes its success to extraordinary skills of the musicians and well-selected repertoire. Music that these talented young Russian artists play varies a lot. They perform both Russian and European classical music, secular and church compositions, Renaissance and Baroque music, works of contemporary composers, also spirituals, folk music and their own interpretations of instrumental compositions.
