New program "Big My Secret". Will be performed music works of Rameau, Bull, Bach, Nyman, Mozart. This program is built on the “sound trip” principle. Music of different centuries is brought together to form into one large work, the author of which is our time. It's kind of watching a movie in our imagination (everyone is watching their own movie), in which the plays of Jean-Philippe Rameau and John Bull, the choral foreplay of Bach, the soundtracks of Michael Nyman and the fantasy of Mozart. Stereotypes fixing for each music the only correct version of its practical application, we leave in the wardrobe with a coat. Then we go to the hall where Mozart receives an Oscar for best music for the film, while Bach and Naiman discuss how Ramo differs from John Bull. Anton Batagov is one of the most influential Russian composers and performers of our time. The post-Cagean philosophy of Batagov's projects eliminates any boundaries between "performance" and "composition" by viewing all existing musical practices—from ancient rituals to rock and pop culture and advanced computer technologies—as potential elements of performance and composition. Moscow International Choir will perform choral pieces from Handel’s “Messiah,” accompanied by an orchestra made up of some of Moscow’s finest musicians. The second half of the program is a mix of traditional and contemporary carols guaranteed to get you into a holiday spirit. The choir was founded over 15 years ago to give amateur singers in Moscow an opportunity to sing together — and get to know each other. The very international group includes Russians, Americans, Dutch, Danish, German, French and British expats, although it is constantly changing as people leave Moscow for other diplomatic or job postings and new singers arrive. In keeping with the mission statement of the choir and the spirit of George Frederic Handel, who held annual charity performances of the Messiah to support London’s Foundling Hospital, all profits from the concerts are donated to Russian charitable organizations. Tickets are best reserved in advance through moscow.international.choir@gmail.com St. Andrew's Church |
