Gualtiero, a wealthy “papa’s boy,” didn’t inherit his father’s entrepreneurial traits, and because of the financial crisis declared bankruptcy, after spending all the family’s wealth. Now he has to go for the most unbelievable plots in order to maintain his previous standard of living. The clever young man gets the idea to pioneer the manufacture of crucifixes made entirely of recycled plastic. But where can he get the plastic? The hero’s many relatives, friends, and unwanted acquaintances only make his life more complicated. “A Holy Venetian Family” is an assemblage of stories about the layabout Gualtiero, told with a true Venetian sense of humor by writer and director Pietro Parolin. Everything seems to change when Sergio's colleagues take revenge for his jokes, making him believe that he won 3 million euros in the lottery. Convinced that he has become rich, Sergio decides to abandon his old life bringing with him not only Sabrina, but also their relatives. When Sergio and Sabrina discover that there is no winnings, they decide not to reveal it to anyone and drag their families on a journey from the Roman outskirts to Puglia.
