Drama. Australia, USA 2018, 115 min. Directed by Joel Edgerton. Starring: Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crow, Joel Edgerton, Xavier Dolan. In English with Russian subtitles. This film is based on a true story. Jared grew up in the family of a Baptist pastor. When he tells his parents that he likes boys, they give him an ultimatum: go through “corrective” therapy to become “normal,” or lose his loved ones, friends, faith, and place in society. They send the boy to a special center where young boys are called hopeless sinners and forced to deny their own nature. But in spite of the pressure, Jared is able to resist and find himself.

In English with Russian subtitles. A new exciting and tense thriller from master of suspense Neil Jordan. Young Frances, who lost her mother not long ago, moves to New York. In the big, strange city, she feels very alone. After finding a lost bag in the subway by accident and returning it to its owner, she meets Greta: a French widow, also living completely alone. The younger and older women become very close, but suddenly Frances discovers that everything she knows about Greta is a lie. The girl wants to run from this dangerous new acquaintance, but freeing herself from Greta’s grasp and her “motherly” love isn’t as simple as it seems.

20:00 Tutto il Mondo, Piano Piano + A Casa Tutti Bene
N.I.C.E. Festival of New Italian Cinema. A 10-minute documentary "Tutto il Mondo, Piano Piano" (Italy, Bangladesh 2018) directed by Gianmarco D'Agostino about an Italian who changed his life to help children in Bangladesh will be followed by a screening of "A Casa Tutti Bene" (Italy, 2018, 105 min.). The latter is a drama by Gabriele Muccino starring Stefano Accorsi, Carolina Crescentini, and Elena Cucci. A big family that like any other one includes relatives that see each other often and others that rarely meet, reunite to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of grandma Alba and grandpa Pietro in a big Villa, on the island they moved to. Because of weather conditions they all remain stranded on the island and the idyll between them seems to be over. Both films with be shown in Italian with Russian subtitles.
