People from all sorts of backgrounds set sail on a warship, turned into a cruise liner. Here, there's a pair of young newlyweds, a high-ranking politician and his song, a gang of thugs, and students who are only after the baser pleasures in life. On the first night, a bloody conflict erupts, and the following morning sees a tragedy brought on by unknown forces. A brutal fight for survival begins on board the ship, where people turn into real monsters. A new film by the Korean director provocateur: a metaphorical fable about human nature, on which Ki-duk Kim yet again passes uncompromising judgement.
