Every once in a while, he helps his older sister Sandrine by watching her seven year old daughter, Amanda. One day, he is late to meet her and arrives to find out horrible news — Sandrine was killed in a terrorist attack. Now David, helpless and wracked with sorrow — and himself practically a child — must take on the colossal responsibility of taking care of Amanda. They both feel alone and are afraid of the future. They have a long way to go to see eye to eye — and find new hope.
