Come un Gatto in Tangenziale

Giovanni is a respectable government official who works on the committee for solving racial problems. Monica is an outspoken single mother from a poor district. Their paths would never cross had Giovanni’s daughter Agnesa and Monica’s son Alessio not fallen in love with each other. Neither of their parents approves of their offspring’s choices, but it turns out that opposites attract even when you’re not 13 years old. Getting to know life on the other side of the social barrier becomes a valuable lesson both for Giovanni and for Monica, all while the bright, warm, and incomparable Roman summer shines around them.

The result was a brash mix of outstanding filmmaking, sharp satire, dark philosophy, and a death sentence to the contemporary culture of consumption, which is no less relevant today than when it was released 20 years ago.

Ophelia

Young Ophelia, who loves reading and is utterly uninterested in traditional girlish pursuits, arrives in King Hamlet’s court and finds herself drawn into a vortex of political intrigue and dark magic. She falls in love with the charismatic, impulsive prince, but their romance must be kept a secret. Meanwhile, tempers are boiling over in the royal family, which could separate the lovers and even threaten their lives as a result. Left alone amid traitors and enemies, Ophelia has to take her fate into her own hands.

The film includes previously unpublished video footage, as well as interviews with Pavarotti’s family members, friends, and colleagues. This is a simultaneously exciting and intimate story of the life and career of one of the biggest opera stars of the 20th century: Luciano Pavarotti. The son of a baker from a tiny provincial town, he shared his art all around the world for his entire life, opening the world of opera to millions of grateful listeners and winning hearts along the way. His unbelievable voice and talent brought him fame and wealthy, but Pavarotti never forgot his roots, always helping everyday people and solving their problems just like he solved his own: with humor, love, and total commitment.

Accompanied by the faithful dog capi and of the small monkey Joli-Coeur, his long trip through France, made for meetings, friendships and mutual assistance, leads him to the secret of its origins.
