Set in Ireland during the Great Famine, the drama follows an Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, as he abandons his post to reunite with his family. Despite experiencing the horrors of war, he is shocked by the famine's destruction of his homeland and the brutalization of his people and his family.

Now, the hardened and weary Erin, who already doesn’t trust anyone and expects nothing, has to recall her past and trust the criminals once again. That’s the only way that she can finally fix her mistakes and fight the demons of her past.

His story is a real roller-coaster, taking him to the height of happiness and then dropping him into the deepest pit of desperation, but he gets up again and again — and in the end, he finds happiness thanks to his stubbornness and the help of his wife and friends, who all stay together no matter what.

Princess Nausicaa from the Valley of the Wind lives in a world that is going through an environmental crisis. Nature has changed beyond the point of recognition, the people who remain are constantly at war, but the greatest danger lies in the Jungle, threatening to swallow the entire world and destroy humanity. Preserving the delicate balance between nature and human falls to the good-hearted and brave Nausicaa, who has a unique gift: finding a common language with the denizens of the Toxic Jungle. “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” became the “north star” of the legendary Studio Ghibli. The team behind the future studio came together while working on the film: it was produced by Isao Takahata, Hayao Miyazaki’s friend and colleague. The success of Nausicaa’s study led to the formation of Studio Ghibli, and from that moment on, the names Miyazaki and Takahata became inextricably tied with the new studio.

They meet in foggy Porto and quickly feel an attraction to each other. They spend just one night together, but in their memories — be they joyful or painful and bitter — they will relive the short moments of surprising closeness and passion that bind them together again and again. Young director Gabe Klinger filmed a confession of love to this beautiful Portuguese city, film, and everyone who knows what a broken heart feels like. One of Anton Yelchin’s last film roles.

On 19 February, as part of Pioner and Mastercard's “Priceless cities in Cinema” festival, Pioner will host the Russian premiere of “Promise at Dawn” (La promesse de l’aube), starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Pierre Niney. This is a film adaptation of Romain Gary’s autobiographical novel, which tells the story of a mother’s boundless love. When the future Goncourt Prize winner was still a child, his mother took it into her head that he would become a diplomat, soldier, and world-famous writer. Regardless of how the people around her would laugh, and how her son sometimes doubted his own abilities, she continued to believe in him steadfastly — and all of her wildest dreams came true. A mother’s love and unconditional support carried Romain through all the trials and tribulations of his life, full of secrets, battles, and unbelievable twists and turns.

A tough-as-nails DEA agent is paying attention to Earl. And although his money problems are far in the past, he begins to feel the weight of what he’s doing. Will he correct his mistakes in time? Who will catch him first: the law or the merciless hired guns of the drug dealers?
