Come un Gatto in Tangenziale

Giovanni is a respectable government official who works on the committee for solving racial problems. Monica is an outspoken single mother from a poor district. Their paths would never cross had Giovanni’s daughter Agnesa and Monica’s son Alessio not fallen in love with each other. Neither of their parents approves of their offspring’s choices, but it turns out that opposites attract even when you’re not 13 years old. Getting to know life on the other side of the social barrier becomes a valuable lesson both for Giovanni and for Monica, all while the bright, warm, and incomparable Roman summer shines around them.

This film was part of the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, with Jean Dujardin and Adele Haenel in the leading roles. A witty dark comedy about the new passion of an addict: Georges falls under the spell of a deerskin jacket. He fell in love with it, but it skillfully manipulates him, artfully making him spend all of his savings and commit insane crimes.

At the age of 10 years, he is snatched from his adoptive mother and entrusted to the signor Vitalis, a mysterious itinerant musician. Has its sides, he will learn the harsh life of acrobat and sing to win his bread. Accompanied by the faithful dog capi and of the small monkey Joli-Coeur, his long trip through France, made for meetings, friendships and mutual assistance, leads him to the secret of its origins.
