Francis Ford Coppola’s grandiose masterpiece returns to the big screen. Winner of the Palme d’Or, two Oscars, and three Golden Globes, “Apocalypse Now” is one of the most powerful (anti-)war films in history, showing war as an immersion in primitive madness. Like nothing else on earth, this hallucinogenic Wagnerian epic translated the tension and confusion of the Vietnam War and the 20th century at large into the timeless language of film.

In English with Russian subtitles. A former poet, now party boy and drifter by the name of Moondog, lives by his own rules: be yourself, don’t worry, and forget about the rules! He lives in the moment, never thinking about the future, and each day for him is total bliss. But one day, this never-ending party comes to an end. Because if Moondog doesn’t finish the great poem he started long ago, he’ll end up behind bars. But is it worth getting worked up because of that? After all, life is great anyways, and the world is always ready to help those who know how to have a good time.

N.I.C.E. Festival of New Italian Cinema. A 28-minute drama "Come la Prima Volta" (Italy 2018) directed by Emanuela Mascherini will be followed by a screening of "Hotel Gagarin" (Italy 2017, 94 min.). The latter is a comedy by Simone Spada starring Claudio Amendola, Luca Argentero, Giuseppe Battiston. Five penniless Italians looking for their big break are sent to shoot a film in Armenia. But when they arrive in Armenia, a war breaks out and their crooked producer vanishes along with the money. Whilst abandoned in the Hotel Gagarin, secluded in the woods and buried under snow, they find an original and unexpected opportunity of unforgettable happiness. Both films with be shown in Italian with Russian subtitles.

Dumbo is a little circus elephant with enormous ears that make everyone laugh out loud. But they’re not his only unusual trait. Dumbo can fly! Thanks to that, his poor little circus, where Dumbo works together with his caretaker Holt Farrier and his children, flourishes again and attracts the attention of an energetic entrepreneur. He wants to make Dumbo the star of his unbelievable new show. However, Holt finds out that behind his shiny façade, there are dark secrets and danger hiding. It is only thanks to the incredible little elephant that people can find the strength to stand up against evil.

As the ship relentlessly moves in the direction of an all-consuming black hole, we watch as the mystery of what actually happened onboard unravels.

In Italian with Russian subtitles. Mirko and Manolo are two high-schoolers from the outskirts of Rome. They live their lives as two well-to-do guys – until they accidentally kill a man in a night-time hit and run. It’s the beginning of a relentless spiral down into perdition. The tragedy turns into a stroke of luck destined to wreck their lives – the man was a stool pigeon from a local gang and by killing him the boys earned their way into a living hell they mistake for the promised land.

Starring: Dominik Maringer, Sarah Victoria Frick, Johanna Orsini-Rosenberg, Christian Dolezal, Moritz Bleibtreu, Verena Altenberger. In German with Russian subtitles. The contemporary remake of one of the all-time classics of film history: Fritz Lang's thriller «M» of 1931(Episodes 1 and 2). Vienna in the dead of winter. An annoyed mother sends her little daughter back to the playground to retrieve a forgotten jacket. A whistling behind the curtain of snow. The little girl follows the lure and vanishes without a trace. A child murderer is afoot. The police are helpless and speeding at idle speed. The Minister of the Interior exploits the incidents politically for his own purposes. The yellow press is instigating and the people get more and more nervous – the city seems full of suspects. More and more children disappear and as the dead bodies appear in the melting snow the situation escalates. The only focus is on finding the killer. «M» becomes a public case. Total surveillance, fake news, agitation in the net. Arbitrary arrests. The criminal underworld is made to look like fools which they don't put up with, though. They actually do the work of the police and search for the murderer.

Michelangelo himself, along with the first great art historian, Giorgio Vasari, come alive onscreen, giving us the chance to see how great masterpieces came to be: the Pieta, the statue of David, and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Thanks to innovative technologies, these works are filmed in a way that makes it seem as though it were possible to touch them with an outstretched hand, discovering and marveling anew at the genius who created them.

Dr. Louis Creed, together with his wife and two children, moves from Boston to the quiet wilds of Maine. Near their new home, there is a local landmark: a cemetery where children bury their pets. This is mysterious and dark place, and the Creeds’ neighbors warn them that it’s best not to go near there. But when their beloved cat Church dies, the Creeds’ daughter nevertheless buries it in the cemetery. This choice releases an ancient evil, which wants to stay among the living this time.

For 14-year-old orphan Billy Batson, all he needs to do is say the magic word: “Shazam!” And he turns into a grown-up superhero with a powerful body, who can fly, shoot lightning, beat the bad guys with one hand tied behind his back and even skip a quiz! In his heart, though, Shazam remains a child, so the new superpowers are an endless source of fun and games for him. That is, until he comes up against a real villain: Doctor Thaddeus Sivana, who controls power forces of evil.

That’s not all — because of Santi, an innocent man is now in jail. Now, when the unfortunate Antoine goes free, Yvonne tries to do everything to absolve her husband’s guilt. However, everyone knows what good intentions usually lead to.
