20:00 Princesse Angine (Austria)
Princesse Angine is Vienna-based all-round artist Xenia Ostrovskaya’s band project. With Princesse Angine the Russian born singer/ songwriter from St. Petersburg is the head of an international musical collaboration in which five musicians of four different nationalities perform together, each contributing something unique to the group’s style. This synthesis does justice to its birthplace Vienna, a multinational metropolis of music. The program comprises original compositions sung in Russian, German and English. Princesse Angine is in many ways an unusual project within today’s scene and especially in Vienna. Xenia’s lyrics follow in the poetic footsteps of St. Petersburg’s Perestroika while the repertoire combines rock, jazz and folk elements. Ever since the project’s beginning, the magic that surrounds the songs can be found in its lively melodies and profound lyrics that are often interlaced with a good dose of black humor.
