19:00 Ludwig van Beethoven. All Sonatas for Cello and Piano
One way to get acquainted with all periods of Beethoven's work in one evening is to hear five of his sonatas for cello and piano. At a concert in Moscow, the audience will have a chance to do just that hearing the perfomance of Marc Coppey (cello, France) and Peter Laul (Russia). First two sonatas will go back to the early days of Beethoven as a composer, the third - to the peak of his career, while the last two, as experts agree, will introduce the audience to the later style of the genius. During his life Beethoven wrote 48 sonatas for different instruments and each one is different from one another, might it be in structure, imagery or coloring. Beethoven's sonatas are like action movies where every turn of the plot goes in unexpected directions.
