11:10. Drama, Fantasy. Russia 2019, 70 min. Directed by Valeria Gay-Germanika. Starring: Yulia Vysotskaya, Liza Klimova, Fyodor Lavrov. In Russian with English subtitles. This new film by Valeria Gay-Germanika is a hybrid of a scary fairytale, folk story, and a phantasmagorical game of mother and daughter. On the edge of a pitch-black forest, where terrifying wolves roam, a lonely mother lives in a hut β one who dances in clubs by night and enslaves the few men who happen upon her by day. Her daughter and her small child come to visit in order to convince her to sell the house nd come back to the city, their family, and regular life. Their fears, hurts, and deeply hidden complaints about each other become entwined in a knot which cannot be untangled, only cut apart β or burnt alive along with the rest of them.
