Opera by Gioachino Rossini. 140 min. Stage Director – Dmitry Bertman. Music Director – Konstantin Chudovsky. Booed at the premiere in the theatre "Argentino" in Rome two hundred years ago, the opera has become a hit of all time, and its songs sound all over the planet now. If only Rossini had known that his work, made up in 19 days, would become immortal... Every opera house should have "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" in its repertoire as a musical mood booster. Rossini was said to love making jokes. We also like to have fun here in “Helikon”! To sparkling humour of the Italian genius the theatre added its signature jokes. Clever Figaro, a sweet couple Almaviva and Rosina, nasty Bartolo, music teacher Basilio – all of them plot and scheme, and the audience enjoys the music of Rossini and laughs from the heart.
