19:00 Moscow Jazz Festival opening concert
The opening of the Second International Moscow Jazz Festival. This gala evening a joint program will be presented by Igor Butman, the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, and Larisa Dolina. Also this evening, a unique international project Blues for 4 will be presented by maestro Igor Butman, famous Russian jazzmen Andrey Kondakov and Edward Zizak and legendary American bassist Eddie Gomez. Moscow Jazz Festival is one of the largest jazz festivals in the world - it will be held in the capital for the second time. The festival will feature more than 1000 artists - famous musicians and young jazz groups which have been selected following the results of the All-Russian competition. The festival provides concerts in Hermitage Garden, Zaryadye and Museon parks, on the square in front of TSUM and VDNH, large-scale music and educational programs in famous jazz clubs and parks of the capital. Creative activity of People's Artist of Russia Larisa Dolina is wide and diverse. She has released almost thirty albums, performed in well-known films and even played a jazz singer in the cult Soviet film "We're from Jazz". It seems that there is not a single genre in which Larissa Dolina has not proven herself. Each concert of the singer is a gift for the lovers of different styles and directions of music. Her unique voice and outstanding vocal technique have earned her acclaim from maestros of world music, such as Al Geraud, George Duke, Randy Brecker, Yevgeny Svetlanov and Elena Obraztsova. Larissa Dolina began her career with jazz and remains loyal to it to this day. The singer has been collaborating with Igor Butman for over 20 years, their joint concerts are always a success. In 2008 the artists presented their project "Jazz Carnival" at the sixth annual Russian Heritage Jazz Festival in New York City. In 2022, they performed together as part of a tour in support of the Russian Jazz Centennial in 17 Russian cities where they were greeted with endless applause.

The Questa Musica ensemble will perform spiritual music from the former USSR. The ensemble, directed by Philip Chizhevsky, is one of the most prominent representatives of the Russian conductorial school. It has quickly won praise from Russian and international audiences. The ensemble was formed in 2008 in Moscow. Its members are young and gifted, most of them graduates of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and Moscow Academy of Choral Art. The collective owes its success to extraordinary skills of the musicians and well-selected repertoire. Music that these talented young Russian artists play varies a lot. They perform both Russian and European classical music, secular and church compositions, Renaissance and Baroque music, works of contemporary composers, also spirituals, folk music and their own interpretations of instrumental compositions.
