Ballet in two acts to music by Adolphe Adam. 120 min (with one intermission). The Russian Classical Ballet offers the classical version by Jules Perrot and Jean Coralli, adapted by Marius Petipa. Libretto by: Théophile Gautier, Jules-Henri de Saint-Georges. Choreographers: Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot, Marius Petipa. Choreographic version by Valentin Grischenko. Set Designer: Maksim Ushakov. Giselle evokes the spirits of the forest and the forces of nature - a tragic beauty. The second act of the work is extremely elegant - referred to as the "white act" in reference to the Willis - only comparable to the perfection of acts II and IV of the ballet Swan Lake. Considered the masterpiece of the romantic ballet, Giselle arouses great interest for the high technical degree in the performance of the character by the main dancer and mimic, as an artistic expression that uses the body movements to communicate.
