El Cachivache Quinteto is currently one of the most popular tango groups and is widely recognized on the world music circuit. Sometimes called "Tango Punk," the group is characterized by its undeniably creative, original, and very “danceable '' style. In 2008, two Argentinian musicians living in Spain, Vito Venturino (guitar) and Pablo Montanelli (Piano) reconnect with their Porteño roots and form the group Cachivache. They quickly attract attention in Europe and Asia for their very distinctively modern style. Once resettled in Buenos Aires, they begin to compose original pieces while also at the same time continuing to thrill dancers and fans of classic tango arrangements with an undeniably contemporary sound. The quintet is instrumental but sometimes works also with the singers Martin Troncozo, Chino Laborde and Juan Villareal. Based in Buenos Aires, the band is touring Europe, Russia, USA and Asia for three or four months every year. Both the tours and the recordings are managed independently for the own band, where Vito, the guitar player take the role of “manager” and producer. During the last 11 years the band has played in 37 countries arriving recently to their show number 1000. MMDM Chamber Hall |
