19:00 Dedication to Lady Jazz
To the 100th Anniversary of Ella Fitzgerald Oleg Lundstrem Chamber Jazz Orchestra, Conductor Boris Frumkin together with Charenee Wade (vocal, USA), Kapatia Jenkins (vocal, USA) and Lakisha Jones (vocal, USA) will perform jazz hits and songs from the repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald. Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 – June 15, 1996) was an American jazz vocalist with a vocal range spanning three octaves. Often referred to as the "First Lady of Song" and the "Queen of Jazz," she was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing. Fitzgerald was a notable interpreter of the Great American Songbook. Over the course of her 60-year recording career, she sold 40 million copies of her 70-plus albums, won 14 Grammy Awards and received during her career many other major awards and honors. The State Jazz Music Chamber Orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem has a unique history. It is the most "Long Playing" Big Band in the world. The great interest in Jazz came to the young Oleg Lundstrem in 1932, when a platter with the record of the Duke Elling-ton's orchestra "Dear Old Southland" occasionally got into his hands. This became the milestone in the choice of the further path. Oleg Lundstrem began to study Jazz, listenning to the orchestra. In 1934 the friends, the grown together young musicians decided to assemble their own jazz orchestra. The credo of the orchestra is in deep penetration into Jazz mastery, into its traditions, on the one hand, and the strive to contribute into the genre by creating and performing of the unique and original jazz compositions and arrangements on the other.

20:00 Mumiy Troll (Russia)
The 20-year anniversary of "Morskaya" album. The group was founded on 16 October 1983 in Vladivostok. In 1985, they recorded the first album, "Novaya luna aprelya", which was eventually distributed on tape. Mumiy Troll broke up when Lagutenko, who graduated in Mandarin and Chinese Economy, went to serve in the Soviet army (Russian Air Navy). Then he came back, the band released the second album, Delay Yu-Yu in 1990. The early concerts were proven commercially unsuccessful. They first gained immense popularity with the release of their first (official) album Morskaya (Marine) in May 1997, which showcased a combination of melodic hard rock and Lagutenko's offbeat lyrics and coy, androgynous performance style. Mumiy Troll of that time were all about brit pop, unisex and rockapop (term introduced by band’s founder Ilya Lagutenko)—and were tremendously successful with everything they did on the album. At that time they were supported by Russia’s two probably most influential pop music publicity & production specialists: Alexander Kushnir & Alexander Shulgin. Mumiy Troll were in good hands.
