16:40 Beauty and the Beast
Musical/Fantasy. USA 2017, 129 min. Direced by Bill Condon. Starring: Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans. In English with Russian subtitles. In order to free her father, who has fallen under a curse, Beauty agrees to become a prisoner in a magical castle, where invisible servants instantly grant all of her wishes. The castle's owner, bewitched by a fairy for a lack of hospitality, is presented before Beauty in the form of a monster. With time, she learns to love this monster, the force of which alone can turn the Beast back into a prince. This new interpretation of a traditional European fairy tale, better known in Russian as "The Crimson Flower," was conceived of all the way back in 2014. Since then, the studio managed to fully rewrite the screenplay, having changed many plot points and introducing new characters. But its technological might and musical accompaniment nevertheless proved faithful to the original film. In place of latter-day Broadway showtunes, composer Alan Mencken and lyricist Tim Rice wrote several new numbers. One of them, "How Does A Moment Last Forever," was performed by Canadian diva Celine Dion.

20:00 CIFRA 3: Tiszta Szívvel. Q&A with Szabolcs Thuróczy
Comedy/Drama/Action. Hungary 2016, 107 min. Directed by Attila Till. Starring: Szabolcs Thuróczy, Zoltán Fenyvesi, Ádám Fekete. This is a meaningful action-comedy of a wheelchair-bound assassin gang. Driven by despair and fear of becoming useless, a 20 year-old boy, his friend, and an ex-fireman offer their services to the mafia. But things are not what they seem. The boundaries between reality and fiction blur and the story becomes a whirling kaleidoscope showing us gangsters and gunfights, but also the challenge of life in a wheelchair and the pain caused by a father's rejection. Awards: Chicago International Film Festival - Roger Ebert Award; Thessaloniki International Film Festival - Best Director, Best Actor; Cottbus Film Festival of Young East European Cinema - Ecumenical Jury Award, FIPRESCI Prize; Cairo International Film Festival - Bronze Pyramid Award.
