People circle around their own egos with a constant longing for balance. But the point where everything is in equilibrium is unreachable. Egopoint is the most recent choreography by Nadja Saidakova, principle dancer with the Staatsballett Berlin, and will have its Moscow premiere as a co-production with Theatre Ballet Moscow. Nadja Saidakova's choreographic work is inspired by her personal experiences: "How to find harmony between the incredible dynamism of our crazy lives and the deep human desire to discover oneself?" Her abstractly designed choreography circles around a little cosmos of human relations. Almost unnecessary to mention, Nadja Saidakova will draw on her extensive vocabulary of classical movements. She describes her choreographic momentum: "There are more ideas in a dancer's body than one can actually retrieve; and the more experience you gather the bigger the urge for freedom." The Egopoint ballet music is a composition by The 7th Plain (Luke Slater's Ambient and Experimental Project) and a journey put together using new and re-worked tracks. ZIL Cultural Center |
