Dolphin
February 28, 20:00
Crocus City Hall Crocus City Hall

Dolphin Musician known as Dolphin, has long ago established himself as an independent, template-free, universe-scale personality; now it comes axiomatic. His concerts are dreadfully powerful emotional experiences for an audience. He could perform daily and would have full halls. Words, intonations, rhythmical patterns take the proper place - Dolphin never misses the mark. Guitarist Pavel Dodonov adds wild expression to the show and causes chaos in Dolphin's measured music. Dolphin doesn't stop at what has been accomplished: now his performances feature the recent developments in stage lighting, and it is said to look terrific. And video accompaniment has stepped even further - it is comprised of works by the young Yekaterinburg-based artist Pavel Laptev. And you know, seeing is believing.

Dolphin's incredible live performances earned him love, respect, and acknowledgement of tens of thousands of people, which attend his concerts every year. He was never estimated as any musical type with the generally used term. Though, conditionally, he describes his style as: poetry reading, with an edge to an electronic/rock beat.

Dolphin is respected by professional writers, and the National Russian Writers Union acknowledges him as one of the most outstanding modern poets. As an artists he is sincere to the innermost of his heart, and it leaves no-one cold. In 2000 Dolphin was awarded with one of the most prestigious Russian awards "Triumph" for his contribution to the national music culture.

The singles from the album "Vesna" (Spring) - "Romance" (Love song) and "Serebro" (Silver) were at the top of Russian radio charts for over 20 weeks! They brought Dolphin to a new stage of popularity and a new wave of recognition throughout the country.

In 2004 Dolphin was nominated for and awarded with the highest Russian musical awards, including; "Best Artist" (Russian MTV Awards), "Best Artist" (Radio Maximum Awards), "Man of the Year" - "Choice of MK" (MK being the most popular Russian daily newspaper). Finally in 2004 Dolphin was recognized as the best performer at MTV Russia Music Awards.

Also in 2005 NFPF (the National Federation of Phonogram Producers) along with the Russian media agency Intermedia awarded Dolphin with the diploma "for the contribution to the future" (for always being in the vanguard of Russian music). In November 2007 he released the album "Youth".

Press about Dolphin

"Dolphin has a knack for finding new features in hip-hop, alternative, rock and many other styles, features that others musicians are blind to... "Youth" is one of the best albums ever." Ilya Legostayev - musical critic. "MK" newspaper, 18.01.2008.

"This album is very deep, it develops gradually like a negative film... And the same with the album's sound: at first sight it seems to be badly recorded, but actually this sound is magnificent". Andrey Bukharin - musical critic. "Rolling Stone" magazine, January, 2008.

At the concert in Crocus City Hall Dolphin will present his new album Andrey which has reached the top of Russian iTunes in premiere day. The power of this record is in a shocking psychological sincerity which Dolphin comes out to a wider audience with. And the new concert program of the singer is a completely different Dolphin. Besides on February 28th Dolphin will perform with new cast of musicians: not only with guitarist Pavel Dodonov but also with drummer. Don't miss!
