Tomcraft

Established as one of Europe’s best House and Techno scene hit maker’s, Thomas Bruckner aka Tomcraft (pictured) has catapulted himself to fame in 2003 with his UK No.1 Loneliness’. With 300,000 copies of this monster Dance hit sold worldwide and still selling rapidly, Tomcraft is highly sought after.

Tomcraft is also established as an internationally requested DJ with unrivalled success. His stylish sets boast thumping and mystical beats which are guaranteed to bring the masses to a cooking frenzy. This has been seen time and again with appearances in Germany at Mayday, Love Parade, Energy, Nature One and with an international following in the USA (NYC, Miami, San Francisco etc), Columbia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and throughout Europe.

2004 worldwide will see Tomcraft headline the massive Two Tribes festival in Australia and New Zealand, tour Asia and The Far East aswell as a string of dates in North and South America, Canada and South Africa. UK clubbers are also set to be embraced by Tomcraft following bookings at Tangled, Gatecrasher, Slinky, and Promise aswell as headlining for Godskitchen and Turnmills, two of the finest clubs in the UK.

As Munich label Kosmo Record’s No1 seller, Tomcraft is responsible for numerous productions and chart hits. Together with his producer Robert Bormann aka Eniac, Tomcraft has created hits such as “The Mission“, “The Lord“ with Samuel L Jackson and “The Circle“ which was used on channel Pro 7, as the trailer for the TV series “X-Files“. Other successes include “Silence“, “Prosac“, “Overdose“ and his latest U.K. number 1 hit “Loneliness“, which spent 7 weeks at No 1 and achieved air play and DJ support around the world.

Adding to the diversity of Tomcraft’s work comes the release of his second album “Muc“ in January 2003. Not what one would expect from a dance-act, it is a mixture of Electronic sounds with straight Beats and Depeche Mode influences.

Recently Tomcraft had launched his own imprint in the form of ‘Great Stuff Recordings’, a label that as you can expect will deliver only the finest productions to ignite any dancefloor in clubland.

Following on from the success of Loneliness Tomcraft is currently the most in demand remixers on the club scene. He has just remixed for chart topper Sonique aswell as the worldwide dance anthem from BBE ‘7 Days And A Week’. Other remixes receiving worldwide DJ recognition include the awesome Futureshock single ‘Late at night’ and ‘Yello – The race 2003’. What is set to be the most talked about remixes this year will be Tomcraft’s collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys. Having remixed their track ‘In Private’ for their ‘Best Of’ album, the Pet Shop Boys fell in love with Tom’s sound and have asked him to remix ‘Flamboyant’.

In 2001 Tomcraft was also nominated for an Echo Award in the category of best dance-act. Tomcraft’s success and hard work in 2003 can only be summed in one way, at this year’s Dance Music Awards where Tomcraft scooped 3 awards, the most one German Artist has ever received in one night, Best Album, Best Dance Track & Best Radio Hit.

Tomcraft’s as a DJ and a No.1 Producer is set to react new heights in 2004.

Matt Hardwick

Matt Hardwick's past has been well documented. His strong association and influence on the global phenomenon that is Gatecrasher is something with which we are all too familiar. But lets get up to speed with the Matt Hardwick of today as his Dj profile moves into overdrive?

Having recently completed his first BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix- to great plaudits worldwide - Matt has joined the who's who when it comes to the name Dj's on the world scene. Further, his rising profile has been consolidated with the completion of two highly prestigious Resident Transmission compilation mixes for Gatecrasher in the last six months. In a time when world music sales are down, the compilations performed excellently worldwide and jumped to the top of the compilation charts- outselling the compilations of (dare we say it) more established names.

Matt has now become a truly global Dj, playing the four corners of the earth and has developed a strong fan base. Just this year Matt has enjoyed successful tours throughout the USA and South America, Asia and throughout Europe- with tours in Africa and Australia planned before the year is out. This is not forgetting his commitments in the UK where Matt is regularly playing for the best organisations in UK clubbing- including Cream, Slinky, The Gallery, Serious and of course Gatecrasher.

All this aside, it is perhaps Matt's production profile, which will come to the fore in the coming months. His collaboration with production duo Smith & Pledger, entitled Day One, has already won support from the likes of Dj Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten and has been snapped up by the highly prestigious Anjuna Beats label with a release date pencilled in for September. Production Gurus Above and Beyond actually requested that they do a remix of the track. This is an accolade in itself as the boys are very particular about who they remix- they are currently doing a mix for Madonna!! The track has, in addition, been included on a number of high profile compilations- including the prestigious Ministry of Sound Ibiza annual.

Matt is currently working on a follow up single with the guys, which will see them recording under the name Shadowlands. Following up their first single will be no mean feat- but Matt believes that the follow up could be even bigger!!

With another Gatecrasher compilation planned before the end of the year and the production side of his career moving into overdrive, there is little doubt that his Dj profile will go through the roof in the coming months.

Gavyn Mytchel

At the age of 25 DJ/Producer/Radio Show host Gavyn Mytchel literally has the world at his feet. Recently installed as one of The Gallery's new monthly residents alongside John Askew and Nic Fanciulli, Gavyn has come a very long way in a very short space of time. As one of the friendliest and most out-going DJs in the business, Gavyn's tireless enthusiasm has not only earned him his very own monthly show on Ministry of Sound Radio, but it's also made him one of The Gallery's most popular DJs over recent years and secured him record deals with Armin Van Buuren's Armada Music label and Tall Paul's Duty Free Records.

Having spent years traveling down to The Gallery from his Manchester home each week on the train, Gavyn got his lucky break back in 2000 on a chance meeting with Turnmills Promoter Danny Newman at the club. Danny said that if Gavyn really wanted to work for him, then he should come and see him bright and early on the following Monday morning. Having kept him waiting for nearly 2 hours, Gavyn finally got his chance and 3 years on Gavyn is now an instrumental and indeed influential part of the whole Turnmills set up, from DJing to club promotion and booking DJs for The Gallery himself.

As well as recently being made a Gallery resident, in January 03 Gavyn signed up to the prestigious Duty Free Artist Management that includes dancefloor heavyweight Tall Paul, plus big hitters Darren Christian, John Askew and Gleave Dobbin for UK and Worldwide bookings. Having blown the roof off The Gallery with devastating sets alongside the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten, Gavyn was invited onto Fergie's Radio 1 show in June 03, to record a 30 minute 'Future Hero' hot-mix. He then subsequently appeared in Fergie's Mixmag column as his 'Future Hero' DJ of the month, with the Ulsterman describing him as "a very ambitious guy!" This was followed up with a page feature in the September 03 edition of Mixmag (together with John Askew and Nic Fanciulli), where once again he was being hotly-tipped for the top and had the pleasure of a very glamorous photo-shoot in a Clapham pub toilet!!

Gavyn's relentless energy has also reaped huge rewards in the production stakes as his debut track Insurrection was snapped up personally by Armin Van Buuren for his new Armada Music imprint. Gavyn then signed a three single record deal with Armin and he's currently in the studio busy working on new material. Gavyn's follow up dancefloor smash is Forbidden, a full-on tech-trance track that truly reflects his driving dancefloor sound that has made him such a favourite at Turnmills. Having made its way into the hands of Duty Free Records, Forbidden was instantly signed up after only one playing and it's now set for a full release! Also listen out for Mayhem ("What the fuck is going on!") Gavyn's twisted, electro-trance thumper, that's getting huge support from the likes of Eddie Halliwell, Marco V and John 00 Fleming.

In February 03 Gavyn was asked to host his very own monthly 2 Hour show on Ministry of Sound Radio, which is broadcast between 2-4pm on the third Friday of every month. Titled The Gallery Show, Gavyn welcomes a guest DJ every month for a special hot mix, plus he plays all the latest tracks that are doing the damage on The Gallery's dancefloor. Already this year the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Gabriel & Dresden, Oliver Klein, Jon O Bir, Marco V, John Askew and Fergie have all dropped in for a mix, with loads more guest spinners scheduled in for next year. Gavyn's show is already proving to be a huge ratings winner and from January 2004 The Gallery Show will begin a brand new fortnightly slot? must be his fast-talking Mancunian charm!!

Also in January 2004 Gavyn will once again feature in Mixmag, possibly on the front cover as one of the DJs to watch out for next year. In fact, 2004 could very well be the year when Gavyn steps up to the big boy league. Just remember where you heard him first!
