Arena CSKA Arena CSKA

Park Live is an annual international music festival that combines music, art, fun, sunshine, fresh air, a great audience, and a positive atmosphere. Park Live is a festival for people of all ages and people with different tastes in music. One of the best Moscow stadiums, a warm summer evening, several tens of thousands of like-minded people around and, of course, the stars of the world rock scene, which shows becomes an outstanding event - all this makes domestic music lovers count the days before the start of the large-scale music festival Park Live. The fifth festival take place at TCSKA Arena on July 5th. Chart-topping but challenging alt-metal band that incorporates programmed beats and subtle Eastern European influences - System of a Down is scheduled to headline this year festival. System of a Down has achieved commercial success with five albums, and many singles such as their breakout hit "Chop Suey!", "Toxicity", "Aerials", "B.Y.O.B.", "Question!", "Hypnotize" and "Lonely Day". Their works have earned them one Grammy Award amongst three nominations. Together with System of a Down will play Three Days Grace, which dark, angst-ridden alt-metal made them heavyweights of post-grunge alternative rock; Twin Atlantic, soaring, stadium-sized, radio-ready emo-pop from Glasgow, Scotland; and Louna. For 5 years existence Park Live has won the status of an international festival, and has become a cult for thousands of people united by a love of music. The first time the Festival was held in Moscow in 2013 on the area of Industry (VVC). In the aftermath people wishing to attend Festival became too much, and in 2015 Park Live moved to the Otkrytie Arena Stadium, where it was no longer just a festival, but a grandiose show of city-wide importance. Muse's performance in 2015 is an important milestone in the history of Moscow stadium concerts.

Festival Headliners:

System of a Down.
System of a Down, sometimes shortened to SOAD or System, is an Armenian-American heavy metal band from Glendale, California, formed in 1994. The band currently consists of Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (vocals, guitar), Shavo Odadjian (bass, backing vocals) and John Dolmayan (drums). The band achieved commercial success with the release of five studio albums, three of which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. System of a Down has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, and their song "B.Y.O.B." won the Best Hard Rock Performance of 2006. The group briefly disbanded in August 2006 and reunited in November 2010, embarking on a tour for the following three years. System of a Down has sold over 40 million records worldwide. Like many late-'90s metal bands, System of a Down struck a balance between '80s underground thrash metal and metallic early-'90s alternative rockers like Jane's Addiction. Their dark, neo-gothic alternative metal earned a cult following in the wake of the popularity of such like-minded bands as Korn and the Deftones. Vocalist Serj Tankian, guitarist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian, and drummer John Dolmayan formed System of a Down in Southern California in the mid-'90s: Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian attended Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School as children, although due to their eight-year age difference they did not meet until 1992 while working on separate projects at the same recording studio. They formed a band named Soil with Tankian on vocals and keyboards, Malakian on vocals and guitar, Dave Hakopyan (who later played in The Apex Theory/Mt. Helium) on bass and Domingo "Dingo" Laranio on drums. The band hired Shavo Odadjian (another Rose and Alex Pilibos alumnus) as manager, although he eventually joined Soil as rhythm guitarist. They quickly earned a strong following in Los Angeles, largely based on strong word of mouth. A three-song demo began circulating through metal collectors, and their fan base soon spread throughout not only America, but Europe and New Zealand. By the end of 1997 the group had signed to American, then distributed by Columbia Records. American/Columbia released the group's eponymous debut album in the summer of 1998, securing the band opening spots on the Slayer and Ozzfest tours. System eventually went gold, and set up the September 2001 release of the even more ambitious Toxicity. System's second effort was another heavy music triumph, shaming the majority of their nu-metal competition and running away with multi-platinum honors. The quartet didn't slow down. Malakian started the eatURmusic imprint and Tankian a label called Serjical Strike; Tankian also collaborated with Armenian avant-garde folk musician Arto Tuncboyaciyan in a project called Serart. In November 2002 System issued the bare-bones but no less powerful odds 'n' ends set Steal This Album!; they also remained politically active.

By 2004, System of a Down was back in the studio with Rick Rubin. The bold result of those sessions was a single epic album released in two parts. Mezmerize/Hypnotize kept System's furious creativity alive, incorporating the wild vocal melodies, lyrical passion, and rabid structural shifts that had become their trademark. Mezmerize, or part one, appeared in May 2005, while Hypnotize, its final section, appeared later in the year, and both hit the top of the album charts. The following year saw the group go on hiatus, with Malakian forming Scars on Broadway; Dolmayan opening an online comic book store and forming the group Indicator (he also briefly played with Scars on Broadway); Odadjian working with RZA, AcHoZeN, and George Clinton; and Tankian embarking on a solo career. In 2010 the bandmembers announced that they would be reuniting for a series of European festival dates in 2011. System of a Down continued to tour internationally through 2015, and hinted at the possibility of releasing a new album in the near future.

In a November 2016 interview with Kerrang!, drummer John Dolmayan revealed that System of a Down has been working on more than a dozen songs for their follow-up to the Mezmerize and Hypnotize albums. He stated, "We've been working on a new album for the last six months and there's about 15 songs that I think are album-worthy." Although Dolmayan stated that the band does not know when the album will be released, he added that, "I want everyone on board and feeling good about it. That's what we're trying to accomplish right now. There's a tremendous amount of pressure on us, though, because it's been 11 years—at least 12 by the time it comes out."

Three Days Grace
The members of Three Days Grace began bashing punk chords when they were in their teens, carving a derivative yet energetic sound that fueled their live performances. Three Days Grace were formed in Norwood, Ontario, Canada, in 1997 by Adam Gontier (vocals, guitar), Brad Walst (bass), and Neil Sanderson (drums). The group was originally called Groundswell, a five-piece that lasted from 1992 until transforming to a trio five years later. Gontier and Walst were raised in Norwood, and many of their songs were inspired by living in a place with a population of around 1,500. The bandmembers were still in high school when they had their first gig, and they performed anywhere that would accept them -- including opening for a movie. Signed with Jive Records, Three Days Grace has released five studio albums, each at three-year intervals: Three Days Grace in 2003, One-X in 2006, Life Starts Now in 2009, Transit of Venus in 2012, and Human in 2015. The first three albums have been RIAA certified platinum, 3× platinum, and gold, respectively, in the United States, whereas in Canada they have been certified by Music Canada as platinum, double platinum, and platinum, respectively. The band has a string of number one songs on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. Three Days Grace eventually relocated to Toronto and were introduced to producer Gavin Brown by their old manager. The band gave Brown a private set, and he selected what he felt were the most promising tracks. The group then produced a demo for EMI Music Publishing Canada. With Brown at the helm, Three Days Grace recorded "(I Hate) Everything About You." The tune got them a publishing deal with EMI, and soon they were signed to Jive after being courted by the company's president. Brown and Three Days Grace were sent to a studio in Boston, Massachusetts, to start the group's debut album. The band completed its self-titled full-length in Woodstock, New York, at an isolated location free from big-city distractions. Heavily influenced by Kyuss and Sunny Day Real Estate, the dark, angst-ridden tales of small-town love and hate on Three Days Grace brought the group a Next Big Thing tag. Three Days Grace was released on July 22, 2003, by which time "(I Hate) Everything About You" was already a hit on alternative radio stations in Canada. In 2010, "Life Starts Now" was nominated for "Best Rock Album" at the Juno awards, but lost to Billy Talent III. In 2010, "Break" was nominated for "Best Post Production Video" and "Best Rock Video of the Year" at the Much Music Awards on Fuse.tv. "Break" was nominated for "Best Single" and Life Starts Now won for "Best Album" at the Casby Awards. Three Days Grace are nominated for 2016 Juno Award for Group of the Year.

Since first catapulting on to the scene in 2003, Three Days Grace consistently connected to audiences via hard-hitting, honest, and hypnotic anthems. The platinum-selling, chart-topping, record-setting quartet - Matt Walst (lead vocals), Barry Stock (lead guitar), Brad Walst (bass), and Neil Sanderson (drums, percussion, keyboards, programming) - once again continue that tradition on their fifth full-length album, "Human" (RCA Records). Their link to listeners is the most natural and human thing of all. “When Matt joined the band last year, there was not a fleeting moment that we didn’t think we would forge ahead,” agrees Neil. “Life is all about chapters. Matt’s first show was in front of eight-thousand people on a co-headliner with Shinedown, and he came out guns blazing. He brought this fiery new energy to the band. We never looked back." With Matt as their new lead singer, the band continued barreling forward full steam ahead. In between touring throughout 2014, they reconnected with producer Gavin Brown who helmed the boards on their platinum-certified 2003 self-titled debut and enlisted the mixing talents of Chris Lord-Alge and Nick Raskulinecz. For the first time, Three Days Grace cut songs during short breaks from the road. They would retreat to a dark, uncomfortable rehearsal space and write everything on acoustic guitars, starkly tightening the melodies as much as possible. On "Human", Three Days Grace comes full circle, yet they’re also newly energized with the addition of Matt (Brad’s brother). Closing that circle, Matt incidentally co-wrote two songs on the band’s debut album, also produced by Gavin Brown.

Twin Atlantic
Soaring Scottish alternative rock outfit Twin Atlantic was formed in the city of Glasgow in 2007 around the talents of Sam McTrusty, Ross McNae, Barry McKenna, and Craig Kneale. Like Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, and fellow Scots Biffy Clyro, the quartet specializes in stadium-sized, radio-ready emo-pop that dutifully walks the line between pained and majestic. The band released Vivarium in 2010, and followed it up with Free in 2011. The following year they were invited to play on the popular Vans Warped Tour in America before returning to the U.K. for a handful of support slots with pop-punk giants blink-182. In 2014 their third album, The Great Divide, was announced, and was released midway through the year. During the summer of 2015, the band performed at several European festivals including Glastonbury Festival and hometown T in the Park festival at the new site at Strathallan Castle. The band headlined the BBC Radio 1 Stage on Saturday at T in the Park 2015. The band concluded their album campaign at Reading and Leeds Festival in August 2015. The last single from the album campaign was "Fall Into The Party", the official video included highlights of last 18 months promoting the album at several gigs, festivals, and their massive headline show at The SSE Hydro. The band were nominated as finalists for Best Live Act 2015 by the Association of Independent Music. Twin Atlantic released their fourth studio album 'GLA' on 9 September 2016. New tracks from the album "Gold Elephant: Cherry Alligator" and "No Sleep" were released on 3 June. Annie Mac premiered "No Sleep" as the Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1. On 7 July 2016 Zane Lowe premiered the track "Ex El" on his Beats 1 radio show. The second single from the album "The Chaser" was then premiered by Annie Mac on Thursday 18 August 2016 on BBC Radio 1. The album was produced by Jacknife Lee in Los Angeles. GLA is the airport code for the band's hometown, Glasgow. They made their BBC National TV debut on "Later...with Jools Holland" on October 4, 2016 performing three songs "No Sleep", "The Chaser" and "Ex El."

Louna
No other rock group in Russia has exploded onto the music scene quite as rapidly as Louna. Formed in 2008 by Tracktor Bowling lead singer Lousine Gevorkian and bassist Vitaly Demidenko, the idea behind Louna was to pursue wider musical ideas that didn’t fit in with their original band. They recruited guitarists Rouben Kazariyan and Sergey Ponkratiev, and drummer Leonid Kinzbursky. After the release of their first EP which lyrically focused on the many modern social problems that exist, they were quickly named the 2009 Best New Artist of the Year at the annual Russian Alternative Music Prize (RAMP) awards. They released their first album, “Let’s Get Louder” in December of 2010, selling out every venue during their first national tour supporting the album. Two singles, “Fight Club” and “Let’s Get Louder” reached #1 on the Russian radio charts, with “Fight Club” remaining in the top 10 for a record-breaking 16 weeks and also winning Rock Song of the Year at the 2012 Nashe Awards. Along with this, Louna was nominated for Breakthrough Artist and Solo Performance of the year. Their second album, “The Time of X,” released in February of 2012 has already produced a #1 single, “Mama,” and their most recent single “People Looking Up” entered the top 10. In January of 2013, their album “The Time of X” was nominated for Album of the Year and Lousine Gevorkian was also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for the 2013 Nashe Awards. In February 2013 at the Nashe Awards Ceremony in Moscow, Russia, Lousine Gevorkian was named the 2012 Female Vocalist of the Year for Russia. Louna has played every major festival throughout Russia, and always on the main stage. In late 2012, they were invited to perform as one of the main headliners at the 50th anniversary concert festival honoring Russian rock legend Victor Tsoi of the band Kino, playing to audiences of over 15,000 people in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. Louna’s reputation extends beyond their musicality to include the focus of their personal passions as found in their lyrics and actions. They are the most commercially successful rock band of the modern protest movement (of which Pussy Riot has become the most internationally renowned). They donated their song “The Time of X” to the White Album project raising funds for Pussy Riot’s support and defense. MTV USA came to Moscow in October of 2012 and featured Louna in an upcoming multi-part Rockumentary about protest musicians around the world called “Rebel Music” which will air on MTVU in the Fall of 2013. Their debut international CD, “Behind A Mask,” features 10 of the band’s best songs from their first two albums and have been painstakingly adapted into English by American producer and lyricist Travis Leake (the SLoT). The album was mixed by renowned producer/engineer Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, Paramore) and mastering duties were handled by the legendary Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound, New York.
