The concept of Outline dates back to 2009, when the first "outdoor" event by Arma17 took place in historical post-industrial area in the center of Moscow, merging several club stages with an art exhibition. This summer Outline festival combines music and art on a much bigger scale. For 2nd and 3rd of July true oasis on man-made island will host ambitious cultural experiment with extended night and daytime programs on six independent stages.

The participants of the Outline 2016 will be Philipp Gorbachev, Daniel Bell, Ninos Du Brasil, Rhadoo, Low Jack, Sudden Infant, Ena, Skatebard, Veronica Vasicka, Mulatu Astatke, The Residents, Clock Dva, Francesco Del Garda, Ron Morelli, Daniele Baldelli, Magda, Byetone, The Skatalite and more, not listed yet.

Philipp Gorbachev (Russia)
Philipp Gorbachev will perform on the main Outline stage with new show Unlock the Box. Philipp Gorbachev has been attending Moscow State University to become an ambassador and diplomat. With releases on Cómeme and a long haul global touring schedule, he is an ambassador of the recently emerging modern Russian Dance Music scene, in addition to House and Techno, Electro and other club and DJ styles, to become popular within last decades. While he’s not studying, he dedicates most of the free time to playing drums in the studio of Zvuki Mu (a cult Moscow avant-garde group) and embracing club culture in Moscow as a raver and throwing occasional street parties. Electro, House and Techno in dance music have been the key surroundings for Philipp Gorbachev (thanks to Green Velvet and Tiga) but it is the spirit of improvisation that remains at the core of his own music projects: as a performer Philipp Gorbachev appears with an original show, that he creates for every venue or festival he plays at, individually. This involves an energetic mixing approach on stage, plus drumming on custom.

Sudden Infant (Germany)
Working in the area of experimental and free music since 1989, Sudden Infant is building up complex noise compositions, using unconventional sound sources, lo-fi electronics and turntables. Sudden Infant's music has a humorous and highly improvised character. In 2014 with the album Wölfli's Nightmare Sudden Infant transformed to a band with the members Alexandre Babel, Joke Lanz and Christian Weber. Joke Lanz is one of the most prolific and profound artists working in the border zones where performance and body art meet Improvisation and Noise. In his Sudden Infant guise, Lanz creates a unique blend of physical sound poetry and epileptic noise bursts, using contact microphones, loops, tapes etc. The result is an extreme form of musique concrète that juxtaposes spasmodic gibbering with a battery of disorienting electronics.

Veronica Vasicka (US)
Veronica Vasicka is a photographer, musician, DJ and founder of the epic record label and on-line music resource Minimal Wave. As one of the founding members of East Village Radio, she managed the station during its pirate days and began collecting obscure and long forgotten gems that fell somewhere between the Cold Wave, Post Punk and Minimal Synth genres. Veronica Vasicka was born in New York City to an Uruguayan mother and Czech father. At an early age, she had a passion for music and photography. She studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and later co-founded East Village Radio. Inspired by the music she gathered for her weekly 2 hour radio show, she launched the Minimal Wave label in 2005. Specializing in obscure electronic gems, she loves old New Wave, Italo and House music. She aims to bring rare recordings to the public via Minimal Wave, as well as her sublabel Cititrax, which features newer bands and classic house reissues. She hosts a weekly radio show on East Village Radio, and also DJs bimonthly in various clubs around New York City and the world. She also records her own music under various pseudonyms and collaborations.

The Residents (US)
US avant-garde band based in San Francisco. The official inception of the Residents was the release of Meet The Residents in 1974, but members of the group had worked together since 1969 or perhaps earlier. The band is known for its wide range of named guest stars and collaborators, its multitude of concept albums, its ambitious multimedia, audiovisual, and stage projects and the mystery surrounding much of its activities, from its history as a band to its members. The band has consistently related that it took its name from a rejection letter that it had received from Warner Bros. Records in response to a demo tape the band had sent them. The tape was sent anonymously, so the letter simply addressed them as "Residents."

Magda (US)

Magda's realm as an artist spans far beyond the typical role played by DJs and producers. With an open mind, Magda will try her hand at whatever feels right: from producing high-quality Tequila to tech collaborations, fashion and art, Magda has created a truly unique, multifaceted expression of herself. Born in Poland and raised in Detroit, Magda has soaked up the various characteristics of her surroundings, resulting in a widely-cultured perspective, tuned to see beauty and potential in the most derelict and depressed of places. As a teenager partying in Detroit, it wasn't long until Magda was fully immersed in the city's underground scene. In 1998, she was dropped straight into the deep end; she joined Minus and began touring the world as Richie Hawtin's opening DJ. Whilst this was a perfect platform for Magda to show off her talents and develop a fanbase, it brought with it the constraints of an established reputation. On top of all this, Magda has proved herself as a label boss, running the long-standing and successful Items & Things imprint with Marc Houle and Troy Pierce. The label thrives on the off-kilter and the uncommon, unearthing new artists and sounds that push boundaries. Thirty releases in and Items & Things proudly count the likes of Jimmy Edgar and Rework amongst its roster.
