19:00 Yamato (Japan)
YamatoYamato was founded in Japan's Nara Prefecture in 1993. The troupe has given over 2500 performances in 51 countries and regions. Every year, Yamato tours the world for 6 to 10 months, creating and presenting original Yamato compositions and stages. As a result of this relentless tour schedule, pursued over more than 10 years, audiences around the world await their arrival every year in growing numbers, sustaining and encouraging their efforts more than words can express. For the players of Yamato, every encounter with their listeners is a unique and precious experience. Yamato's greatest goal is to send audiences to home after each performance with a new vitality and passion for life. As Yamato continue to tour and perform throughout Japan and around the world, whether in concerts, classrooms, school assemblies or workshops, their troupe will continue to cherish and uphold Yamato, the spirit of Japan. In 2012 Yamato drummers returned to Moscow with a new spectacular program "Gamushara - The Beat of Courage". In 2013 Yamato had hit the road again with "Rojyoh, the beat on the road", the very special show that celebrates their 20th anniversary. The performances were presented in Greece, Netherlands, Belgium, Eastern Europe, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Russia, and United Kingdom. Besides the British press gave really amazing reviews about Yamato: "pure energy meets spiritual high" and "simply breathtaking". Yamato, a group of performers from Japan, are young, modern, and brimming with infectious energy as they take the ancient art of taiko drumming and bring it to the present. Much more than simply a "drumming group," Yamato's six men and five women, performing on ancient Japanese taiko drums, combine theatre and musical arts into a performance of tightly synchronized percussion and expressive solos. Taiko is a traditional Japanese art form that refers to both the drums and the physically demanding artistic discipline of ensemble drumming. "Baku On" is the new Yamato's show which will be showed in Russia and Europe. More info
