Giacomo Puccini's Opera in three acts. Buryat State Opera and Ballet Theatre presents. Libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. Music Director: Leonid Korchmar. Stage Director: Yuri Laptev. "Cruel and lustful Scarpia, tender Tosca, capricious and jealous but nothing if not loving and courageous, an only woman in the opera, Cavaradossi, a painter, fond of life and its joys with poetical naivety, an artful background, a combination of voluptuousness and trials, love for life and suppression - all the elements create a kind of a gravestone. Beauty and love celebrate victory, earned in torments in the face of death" (Gustavo Marchesi). Bolshoi Theater New Stage |
