19:30 Theater HD Live in Cinema: Ghosts
An Almeida theatre production. UK 2014, 100 min. A play by Henrik Ibsen. Directed by Richard Ayre. Production by Tim Hutley. Music by John Leonard. Starring: Lesley Manville, Jack Lowden, Adam Kotz, Brian McCardie, Charlene McKenna. In English with Russian subtitles. Winner of three Olivier Awards including Best Revival, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor, Ghosts transferred to the West End's Trafalgar Studios following a sell-out run at the Almeida Theatre. Helene Alving (Lesley Manville) has spent her life suspended in an emotional void after the death of her cruel but outwardly charming husband. She is determined to escape the ghosts of her past by telling her son, Oswald (Jack Lowden), the truth about his father. But on his return from his life as a painter in France, Oswald reveals how he has already inherited the legacy of Alving’s dissolute life. Winner of Best Director for Richard Eyre at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards and Best Actress for Lesley Manville at the Critic's Circle Awards, this is a "powerfully moving" (Metro) production of Ibsen's masterpiece. Giving a "magnificent performance" (Guardian), Lesley Manville (Grief, Another Year) leads the cast in Richard Eyre's "compellingly vibrant" (Evening Standard) adaptation. Theater production. UK 2015, 183 min. In English with Russian subtitles. Henry IV is dead and Hal is King. With England in a state of unrest, he must leave his rebellious youth behind, striving to gain the respect of his nobility and people. Laying claim to parts of France and following an insult from the French Dauphin, Henry gathers his troops and prepares for a war that he hopes will unite his country. RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran continues his exploration of Shakespeare's History Plays with Henry V performed in the 600th anniversary year of the Battle of Agincourt. Following his performance as Hal in Henry IV Parts I & II Alex Hassell returns as Henry V. Henry V will be broadcast Live from Stratford-upon-Avon on Wednesday 21 October, the same week as the anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt.

In English with Russian subtitles. The "Beaux": Mr Aimwell and Mr Archer, two charming, dissolute young men who have blown their fortunes in giddy London. Shamed and debt-ridden, they flee to provincial Lichfield. Their "Stratagem": to marry for money. Lodged at the local inn, posing as master and servant, they encounter a teeming variety of human obstacles: a crooked landlord, a fearsome highwayman, a fervent French Count, a maid on the make, a drunken husband, a furious butler, a natural healer and a strange, turbulent priest. But their greatest obstacle is love. When the Beaux meet their match in Dorinda and Mrs Sullen they are most at risk, for in love they might be truly discovered. George Farquhar's final play is a fabulous carnal comedy.

When an old adversary threatens Rome, the city calls once more on her hero and defender: Coriolanus. But famine threatens the city, the citizens' hunger swells to an appetite for change, and on returning from the field Coriolanus must confront the march of realpolitik and the voice of an angry people. Josie Rourke directs Shakespeare's searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge, with Tom Hiddleston making his return to the Donmar in the title role.
