Pulitzer-winning British photographer James Hill talks about his career over the past twenty years, including working in conflict zones such as Nagorno-Karabakh, Afghanistan and Iraq. His latest book, "Somewhere Between War and Peaceā¦" was published by Kehrer Verlag in 2014. This is also an opportunity to see some works from James's series of Russian veterans' portraits, "Victory Day", which are part of the Pushkin Museum collection. The talk will be in English. James Hill is a British photographer. He joined the New York Times in 1995 and has been based mainly in Moscow since then, with a break when he was posted to Rome. The talk is part of Fridays at the Pushkin, a programme of exhibition tours, concerts and talks for museum visitors. Admission to events is free with the purchase of a museum entry ticket. Entrance to the Main Building costs 300 roubles for adults and is free for under 18s. On Friday 17 April you will also have the opportunity to attend a concert after James's talk and to see "A New Life for the Old Masters", a stunning exhibition of western European painting from the 17th to the mid-19th century.
