The State Academic Symphony Cappella of Russia, Conductor Valery Polyansky together with Anna Novikova (soprano), Vitaly Serebryakov (tenor), Marianna Asvoinova (soprano), Ruslan Rosyrev (bass) will perform I.Kalman's operetta The Csardas Princess. Director Igor Yatsko. “The Csardas Princess” is an absolute hit, one of the most beautiful and popular operettas of the twentieth century - amazing, funny, incomparable. The keystone to the performance success is the happy love story of the brilliant officer and aristocrat Edwin and young variety show singer Silva Varescu and charming, unrivaled music of the great maestro. Love and honor. Loose morals of cabaret and a title of nobility. Heroes have to make a difficult choice to be happy. Numerous film versions and recordings have been made. The operetta is widely beloved in Hungary, Austria, Germany, all of Europe and particularly in the former Soviet Union, where it had been adapted into a popular film. It is arguably Kálmán's most successful work. MMDM Svetlanov Hall |
