Pictures at an Exhibition. The name of the pianist Valentina Lisitsa is known to millions. And this is true: she can rightly be called a pioneer in the development of new ways in academic music. She conquered the world not thanks to numerous laureate titles at contests or multi-day tours - the way to piano Olympus was opened to her by the Internet. The history of a bold breakthrough is magnificent in its simplicity. After winning the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition Lisitsa moved from Kiev to the US, studying combined with a growing concert work. But, as Valentine herself admits, the career suddenly stalled. She was needed a nontrivial move and found it: in 2007, the pianist posted her recordings on YouTube. And then there was the effect of a snowball rolling from the mountain with an exciting speed. Every day the number of views increased, reaching incredible numbers for classical music - up to 50,000 per day. Phenomenal success was the impetus for the resumption of active concert activity. Today the pianist gives up to 80 concerts a year - both solo and with leading orchestras. Each "live", concert, each sound recording multiplies the army of fans of her bright talent.
