The new round of subscription "12" again promises to meet with twelve world-class musicians and masterpieces of twelve composers of three centuries. Polina Osetinskaya (paino), Lukas Geniushas (piano), Andrey Gugnin (piano) and Yakov Katsnelson (piano) will perform piano works by Rakhmaninov, Ravel, Lyutoslavskiy, Prokophiev-Pletnev. Polina Osetinskaya began to play the piano at the age of five, while at the age of six she gave her first recital at the Vilnius Philharmonic. At the age of eight the pianist made her orchestral debut. With the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under Saulius Sondeckis she performed Bach’s Concerto in D Minor. Polina Osetinskaya frequently performs music by post-avant-garde composers such as Valentin Silvestrov, Leonid Desyatnikov, Vladimir Martynov, Georgs Pelēcis and Pavel Karmanov. Lukas Geniušas started piano studies at the age of 5 at the preparatory department of F. Chopin Music College in Moscow, going on to graduate with top honours in 2008. He was born into a family of musicians which played a major role in Lukas’ swift musical development, in particular the mentorship of his grandmother, Vera Gornostaeva, the prominent teacher and professor at the Moscow Conservatory. “Geniušas plays with a prizewinner’s brilliance, yet with a mature ability to recreate a work’s architecture, and an expressiveness that doesn’t overtly draw attention to itself' (The Guardian).
