20:00 Mumiy Troll (Russia)
Mumiy Troll, named after the character of Tove Jansson’s Moomin Troll books, is one of Russia’s most popular pop rock bands which has gained international popularity as well. It's not that the band possesses a particularly exciting biography, nor does the it really stray far beyond the standards of Russian pop, but somehow the group's music makes the listener think that there is something more complex about both Mumiy Troll and its leader Ilya Lagutenko than what appears on the surface of their songs. Besides Mumiy Troll, Ilya Lagutenko is involved into two more musical projects but nevertheless this band remains his main activity. In December 2012 the group presented their musical report about Mumiy Troll's trips and adventures in USA and Great Britain in the same year and mainly about musicians' work on a new album on a board of Sedov barque where Mumiy Troll has been sailed since 2012 and now. In February 2015 Mumiy Troll announced about release their new album Pirate Copies (Piratskie Kopii) on April 15. The title track from this brand new EP is "Vitamins" and Ilya Lagutenko has told about it: "If you're prone to impromptu dancing, you need to add this song to your playlist immediately! Dance away my little freaks, dance away!" This fresh track demonstrates the group's ability to keep up with the constantly changing music industry while maintaining the sound they've become known for. In "Vitamins" they don't stray from their dancy rock/pop beats, but do experiment as a band, trippy guitar, drumbeats, and all! "Vitamins" is exactly the kind of song that gets things started! With a twisted intro leading into the deep, hypnotizing voice of Ilya Lagutenko, this song is addictive. Listen for Eugene Zvidionny's perfectly plucked bass lines, they're so chill in this wonderfully spastic single. The drum lines aren't to be ignored either; Oleg Pungin's work sets the speed for your flashy footwork. The upcoming concert in Yotaspace will be a presentation of Pirate Copies to the Moscow audience and a perfect chance to listen the band's new songs live. Read more
