19:00 "The Charm of Jazz" Festival
Anatoly Kroll presents "The Charm of Jazz" Festival. Natalia Smirnova-Butman (vocal/piano) and her band, Alevtina Polyakova (vocal/trombone) and her band, Daria Eibushits (violin) and her quartet, Yuliana Rogacheva (vocal) and Alexei Chernakov quartet, Olga Sianyaeva (vocal) and AllSeeBand, Viktoria Kaunova (vocal) and her band, Anna Buturlina (vocal) and her band, Anasasia Lyutova (vocal) and her quintet, Special guest – Jazz Friends choir. In 2013 Anatoly Kroll marked appreciation of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, they wrote about him: "As if following UNESCO’s guidelines of “life-long learning” he, at the age of 70, does not complete, but continues musical and educational activities in the Gnesin Academy of music, conducting “Academic Band”, which is inscribed well in the music spontaneity of our life. Perhaps not everybody’s nervous system would be able to appreciate that music. But it did not sound like musical madness. There was Kroll’s academic background felt behind this unexpected action, his respect for classics, cultivated into him in the musical college in Chelyabinsk, where already in his difficult postwar childhood years he demonstrated an absolute pitch enabling him to detect unmistakably not only any particular note, but any taken simultaneously on keys combination of notes in any reckless combination of sounds". Alevtina Polyakova is a pure jazz lady, alumna of Gnesins Academy of Music who chose trombone as the ball of her perfect eye and jazzy ear. Starting recently on a professional scene, she has played with many Russian and international bands like Igor Butman Big Band and Anatoly Kroll Jazz Orchestra, featured nights along with Wayne Shorter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Terence Blanchard, to name a few. Victoria Kaunova - a brilliant performer, who has been influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Dee Dee Bridgewater, but mastered her own unique style of performance. She is the prize-winner of national and international jazz competitions and participant of numerous jazz festivals. Her multifaceted vocal abilities allow successful performing in the musical genres of Dixieland and Musical.
