Absolute feeling of harmony and dynamism of the modern world are peculiar to artistic temper of the group. 19:00 Wiener Capelle Johann Strauss (Austria)
Wiener Capelle Johann Strauss presents a program "Johann Strauss Ball". Conducted by Rainer Roos. The Strauss Dynasty - father and sons Johann, Josef and Eduard - had an own ensemble which accompanied them on their triumphant marches from Vienna around the world: the Wiener Johann Strauss Capelle, which remained in their duties until the end of the dynasty. In 1843 the orchestra was clothed with red dress suits and white trousers and from that on they had been playing in this clothing on special festive occasions. These two unchangeable characteristics distinguish the Wiener Johann Strauss Capelle, which was new-established in 1977. It is a true pleasure to hear the world-famous waltzes and polkas as they were composed for the ensemble by the Strauss dynasty and to see how the Original Strauss Capelle Wien dressed on festive occasions. Wiener Johann Strauss Capelle is one of the cultural symbols of Austria, a famous musical ensemble, first founded and led by Johann Strauss I and later by his son Johann Strauss II, the Waltz King. Hallmark of the orchestra - the red tailcoats - really highlight the musical experience created by the capelle in a true Vienna style, cheering people all over the world. People from Moscow and its guests have a unique opportunity to enjoy waltz melodies, polkas and arias from classical operettas created by Johann Strauss. Soloist - Elisabeth Flechl (soprano) who has established herself as one of Austria's foremost sopranos in both opera and operetta. Elisabeth Flechl studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, graduating with a Master of Arts in recorder and piano. She then went on to study lieder and oratorio with Kurt Equiluz and Walter Berry. In 1989 Elisabeth won the Austrian Young Musician of the Year Award. She made her debut at the Vienna Volksoper in April 2001 as Rosalinde in Strauss's Die Fledermaus.
