The International Chereshneviy Les Open-Art Festival presents a concert of Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and Spanish violinist Leticia Moreno. Conducted by Yuri Temirkanov. The program includes Shostakovich's Concerto # 1 for violin and orchestra; and Stravinsky's music from "Petrushka" ballet. Highly recognized as a truly exciting and versatile violinist, Leticia Moreno "captivates audiences and critics alike with her natural charisma, virtuosism and deep interpretative force." Recently she was appointed to Europe's prestigious award Echo Rising Star. She has appeared with the most renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Yuri Temirkanov, Penderecki, Spivakov, Vengerov, Bolton, Axelrod, Nelson among others and with leading orchestras such us Wiener Symphoniker, Mozarteum Orchester, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, National Philhamonic of Russia, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Sinfonia Varsovia, Essener Philharmoniker, Taipei Symphony Orchestra. Winner of international competitions such as Szeryng, Concertino Praga, Novosibirsk, Sarasate and Kreisler, where the press praised "her unprecedented interpretation of Shostakovich Concerto Op. 99." Other prizes include the Royal Philharmonic Society's Emily Anderson Prize, the Philharmonia Orchestra's Martin Musical Scholarship and Spanish awards AIE and JJMM. Recently she was awarded the Lotto Forder Preis by the Rheingau Musik Festival, where she is a regular guest. Current and recent engagements include her debut with Zubin Mehta and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino receiving an inmediatere invitation for the next season. While in Spain she is regularly appearing with the National Orchestra, Barcelona, Euskadi, Seville, RTVE and Valencia. She will make her debut with the Washington National Symphony Orchestra alongside Maestro Christoph Eschenbach with whom she has been working closely the last few years and with the Houston Symphony alongside Andres Orozco Estrada. As a keen recitalist and chamber musician, Leticia has collaborated alongside Cedric Tiberghien, Kirill Gerstein, Alexander Ghindin, Lauma Skride, Polina Leschenko, Pietro di Maria, Sol Gabetta, Marie Hallynck, Mario Brunello, Leonard Elschenbroich.
