Crime drama. Argentina, Spain 2015, 110 min. Directed by Pablo Trapero, Starring: Antonia Bengoechea, Gastón Cocchiarale, Guillermo Francella, Stefanía Koessl, Peter Lanzani. In Spanish with Russian subtitles. Argentina, the 1980s. The Puccio family — Arquímedesmede, Epifanía, and five adult children — live in an elite suburb of Buenos Aires. Their sons and daughters are considered enviable matches — many of the local well-to-do wouldn't mind getting close to a respectable tribe. But none of their acquaintances and neighbors, even in their darkest nightmares, could dream of what was happening behind the walls of their stately home. The Puccios kidnapped rich residents of the Argentinian capital, demanded ransom from their relatives, and upon receipt, mercilessly killed their victims. And then, without a second thought, they kept their hostages right in the house... An Argentine crime drama by Pablo Trapero, "Best Director" of the 2015 Venice Film Festival.

Hail, Caesar!
13:10, 19:20. Comedy. US, UK 2016, 106 min. Directed by Ethan Coen, Joel Coen. Starring: Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Alden Ehrenreich, Jonah Hill. In English with Russian subtitles. Hollywood, the 1950s. The film tells the story of a day in the life of film studio fixer Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin). He is responsible for its image and dragging its stars out of scandals. One day, straight from the set of the sword and sandal film “Hail, Caesar!”, the studio’s top star, Baird Whitlock (George Clooney), disappears. Neither his wife nor his numerous lovers know where he is. Off on a spree, kidnapped by Communists — who knows? In addition to all of this, a secret organization by the name of “The Future” sends a note demanding ransom at the sum of $100,000… and now Eddie Mannix is waiting for a miracle, since he needs to find the star before the reporters... The Coen brothers’ brilliant vintage comedy about 1950s Hollywood with a whole smattering of stars in the main roles: from George Clooney, Josh Brolin, and Ralph Fiennes to Scarlett Johannsen and Tilda Swinton. This is a far more lighthearted fantasy about the mythical world of the ‘dream factory’ than, for instance, the brothers’ morbid early masterpiece, “Barton Fink.” The film opening the 2016 Berlin Film Festival.

15:05 Trumbo
Drama. US 2015, 124 min. Directed by Jay Roach. Starring: Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane, Helen Mirren, John Getz, John Goodman. In English with Russian subtitles. California, the 1940s. Dalton Trumbo is one of the richest, most successful Hollywood screenwriters, known today to the whole world as the author of “Roman Holiday” and “Spartacus.” He never suspected that the “Hollywood Ten” blacklist actually existed until he himself wound up on it in 1947, owing to his Communist views, and got kicked out of the ‘dream factory.’ This is the story of his fight with the Hollywood system, the American government, and the studio bosses of the McCarthy era. This is a biopic about the famous 1940s Hollywood screenwriter, Dalton Trumbo, who wrote his best-known, Oscar-winning screenplay while in hiding behind another writer’s name. Many celebrities were dragged into the campaign against him and his fight for freedom of choice during the ‘Red Panic’ — from actors John Wayne and Kirk Douglas to the director Otto Preminger. For the title role, Bryan Cranston, the star of “Breaking Bad,” received a 2016 Oscar nomination (Best Actor).
