13 Minutes
12:00, 22:30. Biography/ Drama/ War. Germany 2015, 114 min. Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel. Starring: Christian Friedel, Katharina Schüttler, Burghart Klaußner, Johann von Bülow. In German with Russian subtitles. Only 13 minutes kept carpenter Georg Elser from changing the course of history. On 8 November, 1939 in Munich, he built a homemade time-delay explosive device into a column behind the podium where Hitler was to give a speech. As a result, eight people were killed and sixty-three were injured. However, Hitler was not among those hurt. The Fuhrer, who limited himself to a brief greeting to the collected masses, left the auditorium seven minutes before the explosion, as he needed to return to Berlin. This film reconstructs the sociopolitical context and events of this time in Georg Elser’s life. It is a massive historical drama which watches like a first-class thriller.

High-Rise
13:40, 20:20. Drama/Sci-Fi. UK 2015, 119 min. Directed by Ben Wheatley. Starring: Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, Stacy Martin. In English with Russian subtitles. London, 1975. Robert Lang, a young doctor, has just moved into a luxury high-rise. This towering building seems to be the home of his dreams, an ideal model for the world of the future. Everything necessary for a comfortable life is right there: from supermarkets and fitness clubs to an elementary school – you could live without ever leaving the building. Thanks to this isolation from the rest of society, the residents are gradually becoming hostages to the skyscraper. An open class war is brewing among them, and they are gradually forgetting about the laws of decency and morality…and Lang comes to understand that he is no better than the others, as he himself gives in to his darkest desires...Ben Wheatley’s new futuristic thriller is a screen adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s classic novel. In its treatment of class injustice, this film follows less in the footsteps of British sci-fi and more in the spirit of the “angry young men” of the 1960s. The main role is played by Tom Hiddleston, star of the series “The Night Manager” and “Only Lovers Left Alive".
