The second part of Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller, with Julianne Moore as the lead villain.

A wealthy couple, living in Paris, invites big-name guests to a dinner party. Among the invitees are the mayor of London and other aristocrats. Due to a series of coincidences, a total of 13 guests find themselves at the table. The superstitious hostess has no choice but to ask Maria, her maid, to pretend to be her Spanish friend and join the dinner. As Maria sits at the table incognito, a wealthy collector falls in love with her. A tragicomedy by Amanda Sthers, featuring Toni Collette (Golden Globe for her role in “United States of Tara”) and Rossy de Palma, muse to Pedro Almodovar (“Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,” “Broken Embraces,” “Julieta”).

This acclaimed exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts is the first ever retrospective devoted to the portraiture of Edouard Manet. Spanning this enigmatic and, at times, controversial artist’s entire career Manet: Portraying Life will bring together works from across Europe, Asia and the USA. Manet’s portraiture has never been explored in exhibition form, despite it forming around half of his artistic output. He painted his family, friends and the literary, political and artistic figures of the day, giving life not only to his subjects but also to Parisian society. The exhibition consists of more than 50 works; including portraits of his most frequent sitter, his wife Suzanne Leenhoff, luminaries of the period; Antonin Proust, Émile Zola and Stéphane Mallarmé, along with scenes from everyday life revealing Manet’s forward-thinking, modern approach to portraiture. The cinema event also reveals exclusive behind-the-scenes moments of the exhibition’s preparation, which normally go unseen by the public, and interweaves a detailed, superbly crafted biography of Manet and 19th century Paris. Host Tim Marlow and special guests will look at the craft of one of the all-time great artists.

A young woman lives with her husband in their suburban home. She renovated the house herself, meticulously planning out every single detail in the hopes of creating the perfect place to live. One day, a stranger shows up at her doorstep in need of a place to stay, and brings his fearsome wife with him. The unwelcome guests worry the homemaker, and her anxiety only grows when she finds a picture of her own husband in the man’s bag. Darren Aronofsky’s new horror-thriller, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival a mere several days before its Russian release.

Every Rembrandt exhibition is eagerly anticipated, but this major new show hosted by London’s National Gallery and Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum is an event like no other. Given exclusive, privileged access to both galleries, the film documents this landmark exhibition whilst interweaving Rembrandt’s life story with the behind-the-scenes preparations at these world famous institutions. The exhibition focuses on the highlights from the final years of Rembrandt’s life, commonly thought to be his finest years. The masterpieces he produced during this period could be called his defining works, with each piece so soulful and honest that they helped sculpt our idea of Rembrandt as a man and as an artist. This film explores each of the exhibition’s key works, through contributions from specially invited guests including curators and leading art historians. For many, Rembrandt is the greatest artist that ever lived and this film seeks to explore the truth about the man behind the legend.

Exhibition film. Great Britain 2016, 87 min. Directed by Phil Grabsky. In English with Russian subtitles. Pierre-Auguste Renoir is known and loved for his impressionist paintings of Paris. These paintings count among the world’s favourites. Renoir, however, grew tired of this style and changed course. This stunning film – based on the remarkable collection of 181 Renoirs at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia – examines the direction he then took and why it provokes such extreme reactions right up to today. Some claim they are repulsed by Renoir’s later works and some claim they are seduced. What may surprise many is that among the many artists who sought Renoir’s new works out and were clearly highly influenced by them were the two giants of the 20th century – Picasso and Matisse. The film is a fresh new biography of this artistic giant but more than that it uncovers a rarely told story that places Renoir as a critical link between the old and the new.
