Thriller/Drama. USA 2017, 92 min. Directed by Elliott Lester. Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maggie Grace, Kevin Zegers. In English with Russian subtitles. Roman (Arnold Schwarzenegger), while awaiting the arrival of his family, finds out that there’s been a plane crash, and his wife and son were killed. The tragedy occurred by the fault of the air traffic controller, who admitted his guilt. Roman could not forgive him, and decides to get revenge. The film is based on a real event: the Überlingen mid-air collision in 2002, which occurred as a result of a Swiss air traffic controller. Darren Aronofsky produced.

Action/Thriller. Indonesia 2016, 117 min. Directed by Kimo Stamboel, Timo Tjahjanto. Starring: Iko Uwais, Chelsea Islan, Sunny Pang. In Indonesian with Russian subtitles. A young man, unconscious and with a bullet in his head, washes up on the shore of an Indonesian village. When he is revived in a local hospital, it becomes clear that he remembers nothing of his previous life. Ailin, the doctor responsible for hi, names him Ishmael, taking the name from Moby Dick. Ishmael and Ailin set off for Jakarta to remove the bullet fragments from his brain, but on the way, they fall into a trap set by the henchmen of a secretive underworld boss named “Father from Hell.” The girl is kidnapped, and Ishmael must save her while dealing with the slowly-returning memories of his past – which he himself might not have wanted to remember. An action flick by Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto, which continues the tradition of the “Raid” series. The leading role is played by Iko Uwais, star of Gareth Evans’ films.

Jeanne is a 38-year-old mother of two, who has absolutely terrible luck with men: her husband leaves her and wins joint custody of their children, and her relationship with her new boyfriend falls apart. In the end, Jeanne decides not to have anything to do with the opposite sex. However, one day she wakes up and discovers between her legs the organ of that very same opposite sex, and from this unexpected discovery forward, her life turns into a series of unbelievable events.

Casey and Jonas are neighbors, and madly in love with each other. Their despotic parents forbid them from being together, and the only escape for the two children is to run away from home. After mugging a local drug dealer, the lovers take flight. Casey’s father, a corrupt police sergeant for whom the stolen money was intended, sets off after them. Nathan Morlando’s crime drama had its world premiere at the most recent Cannes Film Festival. For Bill Paxton (“Predator 2,” “Titanic,” “Edge of Tomorrow”), the role of Casey’s father was one of his last.

Drama/Biography. Austria, Germany, France 2016, 106 min. Directed by Maria Schrader. Starring: Tómas Lemarquis, Barbara Sukowa, Josef Hader. In 1936, Stefan Zweig, the illustrious author of " 24 Hours of a Woman's Life" and "Letter from an Unknown Woman", leaves Austria for South America. Being Jewish and hating the inhumanity that prevails in Germany while threatening his native country, he has decided to escape the specter of Nazism. Brazil is his chosen country. He is immediately hailed at Rio de Janeiro's Jockey Club by the local jet set. But whereas expect him to take sides and to make a statement against Hitler and his clique, Zweig refuses to renounce his humanity and to indulge in over-simplification: he just cannot condemn Germany and its people. On the other hand, the great writer literally falls in love with Brazil and undertakes the writing of a new book about the country. Accompanied by Lotte, his second wife he explores different regions, including the most remote ones... The antipathy between them grows into a real fight of ambitions, and gradually, they begin to recognize each other better and better… A new comedy by Dany Boon, the mind behind the film “Welcome to the Sticks” / Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis, one of the biggest French box office successes in history. He himself played the role of Eugène.

A comedy by Oscar winner Fernando Trueba, with Penélope Cruz in the main role, which sends up the golden age of Hollywood and the film business as a whole. The film’s world premiere took place at the Berlin Film Festival.

Documentary. France, Germany, USA 2016, 90 min. Directed by Terrence Malick. In English with Russian subtitles. Terrence Malick’s monumental documentary project, dedicated to the history of the Universe – from the birth of the stars until the appearance of life and beginning of humanity. The project was conceived of by the director in the 1970s, but fully realized only last year: it premiered at the Venice Film Festival. A variety of colors, the rotation of the planets, the eruption of volcanoes and the appearance of life from nothing: as Malick himself assures, this is one of his greatest dreams. The film is narrated by Cate Blanchett.

Documentary. Austria, Luxembourg, Ukraine 2016, 82 min. Directed by Pol Cruchten. In French with Russian subtitles. This film does not deal with Chernobyl, but rather with the world of Chernobyl, about which we know very little. Eyewitness reports have survived: scientists, teachers, journalists, couples, children... They tell of their old daily lives, then of the catastrophe. Their voices form a long, terrible but necessary supplication which traverses borders and stimulates us to question our status quo. Awards: Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival - Best Documentary.
